No Halal KFC Lunch Today

Typically, SBIA offers a free Fried Chicken lunch after Jummah Prayer at either Napredak Hall or the Evergreen Masjid
This year, however, in light of the situation in Palestine as well as the fasts of Muharram, SBIA has decided to forego the lunch and instead send funds ($1000) to our beleaguered Brothers and Sisters in Gaza. 
We also encourage brothers and sisters to fast on Friday and Saturday, as it is reported that the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) recommended the Muslims to fast on `Ashura' (Sat. 24th Nov.) and in addition one more Saum on 9th(Fri. 23rd  Nov.) or 11th(Sun 25th Nov.) of Muharram (Musnad Ahmad).  
The Prophet (saws) also mentioned that there are the three people whose dua is not rejected .. one on them is the fasting person until he breaks the fast, – so especially remember our brothers and sisters in Gaza when breaking your fasts of ashura and the adjacent day.

sbia The South Bay Islamic Association (SBIA) is one of the oldest Islamic Organizations in The Bay Area. Its headquarters are located in San Jose, CA. SBIA has been providing various services to the community since 1977 including the five daily prayers at two locations (San Jose Downtown, and Harris Way) and Friday prayers at both locations. SBIA has been active in spreading Islam through various Dawah programs and by hosting a number of activities including Weekend Islamic School, Quranic classes for children, Tafseer (English translation and Exegesis) classes for adults, conferences and community get-togethers.
